The Walt Disney Co. has reportedly joined forces with a Swiss software company to develop and market stand-alone video-on-demand set top and devices for digital television.

The devices, which would include digital recording capabilities, are earmarked for satellite, cable, and broadcast TV in Europe only, according to a Reuters report.
